EXPERT PATIENT PROGRAMME
The Expert Patient Programme is a self management course for patients and carers over the age of 18 who are living with a long term condition. The course is free of charge and lasts for 6 weeks. It focuses on the symptoms of any long term conditions and covers many subjects including relaxation. East Devon is fortunate to have a team of 7 lay volunteers who themselves live with a long-term condition and who provide this service on behalf of the PCT.
Earlier this year a course was held in Ottery at Project Cosmic, which was well supported by the Coleridge Medical Practice. Recruitment is now beginning for the second course in early 2007!
