The
Practice Nursing team pride themselves on offering an excellent service
to patients We offer you a highly qualified, professional team, which
consists of: -
7 Practice Nurses
2 Health Care Assistant
1 Phlebotomist
We offer a variety of services for patients which include: -
Triage Service- Monday to Friday 9-12pm 2-5pm
A Practice Nurse is available to offer advice and answer queries on many
issues. If you would like to use this service please inform the
Receptionist when you ring the surgery and a message will be passed on.
The Nurse will ring you back as soon as possible.
Chronic disease management and education for the following conditions
Coronary heart disease/Stroke
Hypertension- High blood pressure
Asthma
COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
Diabetes
Reproductive Health
Family planning
Emergency Contraception
Sexual Health
Well Woman Clinics
Cervical screening
Menopausal advice
Well Man
Health Education and Lifestyle advice
Teenage Advice Clinics- Monday 4.30-5.30pm Drop-in clinic
Offers help in multiple areas including advice on healthy living, sexual
health, contraception, smoking cessation, drugs and alcohol avoidance
and psychological support.
Travel Clinic- Monday 4-6pm
Offers general travel advice but also travel vaccinations and advice on
malarial prevention. We ask you to contact us at least two months before
traveling (especially for more complicated itineraries) or one month
before more simple holidays. You will need to book an appointment at
least 2 months before traveling if possible. If this time is
inconvenient we can book you into a general nursing clinic, allowing 20
minutes for the appointment.
Childhood Immunisations- Mondays 2-4pm and Wednesdays 10.30-11.45am. If
you have any questions about vaccinations offered please try and discuss
this with your Health Visitor or GP prior to the clinic.
General Injection Clinic
This is held every Tuesday between 5-6pm. This clinic is for patients
who are called in for ongoing immunisation boosters.

Practice Nursing is an evolving profession, which is constantly taking
on new challenges. We are currently looking at hospital admission in
order to prevent emergencies admissions. Our nurses are continuingly
updating their skills. We are always looking for ways to improve our
service and welcome any ideas you have about how we may move forward. |
