The Community Nurses, Health Visitors, Midwives, School Nurses and Hospice Team work closely with the doctors at the surgery.
These mobile nurses are highly skilled and dedicated to nursing the housebound patient ensuring that their nursing needs are met within their own home.
The Community Nurses specialise in wound care, terminal care and working with the GPs to manage housebound patient's complex needs within their own home.
They provide cover for the practice's patients 365 days of the year between the hours of 8.30am-5.00pm and can be contacted on the number above.
Between 6.00pm and 10.00pm there is an Evening Nursing Service that provides out of hours nursing cover across East Devon, they too can be contacted via the Medical Centre.
The Health Visiting team are based at Ottery Hospital but frequently liaise with the Health Centre about shared patients. They have a special interest in public health promotion, paediatric health surveillance, child protection, post natal support, promotion of breast feeding, Smoking cessation advice, Vaccination advice.
The local midwifery team is based at the surgery and the Maternity Unit at Honiton Hospital. They offer antenatal clinics in the surgery alongside the GPs.
Also based at Ottery Hospital, the School Nurses attend to the health needs of the many young people of school age in our area. They have a special role in health promotion, providing emotional support, child protection, smoking cessation, drug and alcohol advice and contraception advice.
