Ottery Help Scheme was initially set up in 1992 with the help of Ottery St Mary Hospital League of Friends, to give much needed support to local residents in times of illness or a period of life-changing circumstances.

This group of volunteers will be covering the Marsh Green and Rockbeare area.

West Hill Volunteers

They're already working on general support activities that you may need such as help with shopping and collecting prescriptions.  Every household will have different needs and they need to know what support you need.

Ottery Volunteers

During the COVID-19 crisis they will provide urgent support to the vulnerable (at risk), self-isolating and key workers within the community of Ottery St Mary and surrounding villages.
With a network of over 300 volunteers they are able to carry out various essential functions such as the collection and delivery of prescription medication and regular shopping trips. Working alongside the Ottery Help Scheme they offer befriending telephone support for those in need of someone to talk to during their isolation. Their volunteers also work with Ottery Foodbank, supporting their essential efforts. They also offer a mental health wellbeing service to our volunteers, run by volunteer healthcare professionals.
